Aeneid Theatre Company

ATC is an established student theatre company devoted to independently producing contemporary, classic, and alternative plays at USC. The name derives from The Aeneid,  an epic poem by the ancient Roman poet Virgil.  It tells the legendary story of Aeneas, a Trojan who traveled to Italy, where he founded what would later become Rome.

The Aeneid is a story of Trojan determination, might, and ultimate success as they fight to create something new and remarkable. Similarly, ATC strives to change the way theatre is created and produced at USC through the creation of a new theatre company.

Our Mission

The Aeneid Theatre Company strives to enrich the USC community through the collaboration of student talents from all walks of campus life. ATC selects shows pitched by prospective USC student directors and producers, then independently produces three plays of a relevant and thought-provoking nature each year, one from each of the following categories: classical, contemporary, and experimental theatre.  ATC provides support, structure, and funding for these shows while offering opportunities for students to apply their studies in all aspects of a full theatrical production company. We further endeavor to develop the presence of great theatre on campus through educational and artistic workshops and theatrical social events. Ultimately, ATC exists to encourage students to take initiative in their own artistic endeavors and increase accessibility to quality theatre for students across all colleges and schools at USC.
