Paul Backer Memorial ISP Awarded Production
Directed by Jack McCarthy
October 19th-22nd, Massman Theatre
Art imitates life. Life imitates art. When two actors with a history are thrown together as romantic leads in a forgotten 1930s melodrama, they quickly lose touch with reality as the story onstage follows them offstage. It is a hilarious tale about what happens when lovers share a stage kiss—or when actors share a real one.

Tongues & Savage/Love
Sam Shepard & Joseph Chaikin
Directed by Sarah Hahm
February 1st-4th, Massman Theatre
Tongues and Savage/Love is a physical theatre experimental production. These strange, arresting stream of consciousness "concertos" written by Sam Shepard and Joseph Chaikin explore the foundations of human lineage, story-telling, and romance. These are interior monologues, daydreams and nightmares, communicated from subject to analyst as the actor exposes his emotions and recalls his life.
Directed by Jack Tavcar
March 1st-4th, Spring 2018
Titus Andronicus, Shakespeare's infamously gory tragedy, is a power struggle, a family drama, and a dinner party of epic proportions. Returning from 10 years of war, the Roman General Titus Andronicus sacrifices the eldest son of Tamora, Queen of the Goths, in an attempt to appease the souls of his sons slain in battle. This sparks a chain of murder, rape, and mutilation that exposes the toxicity of ambition and greed within Rome’s most influential family.
